Ned Lamont
Bio:
Ned Lamont reached national prominence in 2006 as the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from Connecticut. Driven by his stand against the war in Iraq and the support of the netroots, Lamont toppled the entrenched Democratic incumbent, Joe Lieberman, and forced him to run as an independent to maintain his seat. Lamont is the founder (in 1984) and owner of Lamont Digital Systems, which provides video and communications services for colleges and other institutions. He spent eight years in local government, chaired the state investment advisory council, and served on many civic boards. He also runs a business training program for Bridgeport High School students, and knows the importance of involving parents and communities in education. He’s a graduate of both Harvard and the Yale School of Management and a former newspaper editor. He is married and has three children.
