Bio: Jorge Mursuli is President and CEO of Democracia USA. Born in Cuba, Jorge immigrated with this family to Brooklyn in 1967. In 1993, he joined SAVE Dade, an organization whose goal was to secure the passage of an amendment to the Miami-Dade County Human Rights Ordinance that would include sexual orientation as a category protected by law from discrimination in employment, financing, public accommodation and housing. He later became Executive Director, and in December 1998, the Miami-Dade County Commission adopted the amendment. In 2001, Jorge joined People For the American Way Foundation as the Florida State Director managing electoral ground zero.
