Bio: Irene Ortega is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. She is also a Generation Change class of 2007 and 2008 alumna. Irene has since been working with New Labor in New Jersey as a community organizer and center coordinator. She has undertaken several campaigns and projects; these include electoral work, higher education, workers rights and health and safety issues. Her main interests are immigration reform, education, youth leadership development, and above all, social justice.
