User Profile for Anna Lefer (alefer)

Bio: Anna Lefer is the program officer for U.S. Programs at the Open Society Institute. Lefer directs OSI’s strategic grantmaking that develops the progressive youth activism and leadership sector. The initiative’s goals are to centralize the role of young people in the progressive movement and to develop a leadership pipeline. Previously, Lefer oversaw OSI’s Youth Media Program, which supported opportunities for low-income youth to affect public debate. Anna ran an after-school program in East Harlem, worked for the Public Advocate Mark Green and was a Coro Leadership fellow. She is on the boards of the Urban Justice Center and the League of Young Voters, and on the advisory boards of the DMI Scholars and Generation Change.
