Constitution was about independence, and yet we saw a period of venal government and corruption. The long term outcome was good.
We have scientific and factual consensus on diet, drugs, Global Warming, I'd add Evolution and yet vested interests means Government actively prevented from doing the right thing.
Sugar lobby is a canonical and comical example
Big business is gaming and corrupting government, and a Big Thursday isn't sufficient to fix it, we need:
