Skype interview with Elizabeth Edwards. The technology is working well. Fat cat donors. She's the point that McCain has changed his mind on many issues. Can Obama turn political and fund raising lists into action? We write a lot about things we don't like. We have to turn our complaints into action. What advice would you give Obama. No point in building political capital if you don't use it. Point about Bush not using his political capital after 9/11. Terrible thing that he didn't ask anything of us. Idea of FDR's first 100 days. Use of the internet to give citizens information and "how to's". e.g., info about drugs and drug plans, and cost etc.Used the example of tamoxifen that she has taken-doesn't even know what it costs. Would like the next president to require each agency to have a plan on how to inform the public. Carter had the idea of an ombudsman in each agency. What about agency grading system? Does Homeland Security for example pass or fail in this. Barack Obama said he would give her a central role in health care. Was a surprise to her but she is delighted to take that opportunity. She wants universality but is willing to work for something close. Asked about her endorsement. What do you think his chances are? Was going to appear in GMA but did so from NC. By no means assured. Recalled 2004. We can expect a lot of incoming. A lot is under the radar, inflammatory. The campaign has to go full speed. More of his personal side and experience. If he conveys his background the negative and inflammatory will be reduced.
