Session: Taking Advantage of Web 2.0: Is the Effort Worth the Benefit?
Description
If we're using Web 2.0 technologies, how do we know if we're really getting the most of them? If we haven't gone there yet, should we be rushing there, or wait for the next Big Thing?
Some of the most important conversations at conferences happen in the hallways, when an animated discussion breaks out between a practioner and a consultant, and perhaps a vendor who has overheard the conversation and joined in to offer yet another perspective. What happens is a frank, balanced discussion that results in the big aha. We wanted to bring those discussions into the conference for the benefit of all delegates, and to help decide which afternoon workshop to attend.

Web 2.0? Nah - Just ... Web
Huge take-away for me ... and the result of the lively interaction with the audience. Linda Francis: "It's not Web 2.0, or 3.0, or any number; it's just Web. Duh." Which triggered someone in the audience to concur: "Exactly!, It's time we realized that 'The Web' is in perpetual beta." Wow. Why hadn't I thought of that? It just makes such a difference when you think of the web as an ever-evolving, ever-changing platform for the exchange of ideas and information. Excellent session. |
