Session: Mobiles for HIV Prevention and Reproductive Rights
Description
Representatives from key organizations using mobile technology in the HIV prevention reproductive rights and health fields will showcase their use of technology to affect change in Latin America. More than 50% of Latin Americans own mobile phones but most health projects have concentrated on Asia and Africa to disseminate information. We will feature SexINFO a U.S. project of ISIS Inc., as well as EpiSurveyor, a project of DataDyne.

Showcase of Evaluated U.S. SMS Programs
Come see samples of 5-6 SMS text messaging programs designed and maintained by ISIS in the U.S. (HPV vaccine, Teen health, chlamydia screening, HIV prevention, dating violence prevention). Discussions will be around feasibility of applying best practices learned in the U.S. through these programs to Latin American countries. |
