MobileActive08

Session: Mobile Metrics and Evaluation: How do we measure social impact?
Description
The aim of this interactive session will be to review monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and standard indicators and metrics. In an effort to create an evidence base, we need to start thinking about a shift to impact evaluation. For example, how do we measure whether health is improved, policies advanced, or behaviours changed by the use of mobile technologies? In short, how do we measure social impact?

This session is designed to begin generating key research questions in different areas, and engage in a dialogue related to the creation of standard indicators. We may also consider, for the open space portion of MobileActive, creation of a set of working groups on Evaluation and Metrics for mHealth and/or other issue areas for sharing, networking, and collaboration on M&E research questions.

Our attendees asked why we didn't have Confabb Notes last year; it was so powerful they demanded it for next year.
