This free workshop investigates how renewable products can be derived from biomass-based platform chemicals by using enzymes in a sustainable way. Presentations follow the succession of the supply chain and start with exploring the use of enzymes to produce platform chemicals. In the afternoon top speakers will investigate how these platform chemicals can then be converted into high-value products such as polymers, food additives and pharmaceuticals.

Aims of the workshop are:

* to introduce the use of biocatalysts (white biotechnology) for manufacturing
* to raise awareness of the opportunities that biocatalysis offer industry
* to facilitate collaborations between experts using enzyme technology
