The rise of the internet and VoD has meant that rights clearance has turned into an expensive and complex process for the film industry. When the price of non-compliance may prove to be non-distribution, all the stakeholders, insurers, programmers, distributors, film-makers and co-producers agree that rights clearance must be a priority.
