This course is designed to acquaint management, engineers, and field personnel with project management best practices that can be applied to utility capital projects from the owners’ perspective. (It is assumed that the utility capital project manager and team are working with engineering firms and contractors to perform the project deliverables.) The best practices will be broken down into four phases: project initiation, project planning, project execution, and project closeout with the primary focus on the project planning phase and what an owner representative should be aware of when dealing with engineering firms and contractors. For each phase, the course will address tools and techniques that will help you integrate best practices into your future projects.
