Singapore's position as an international hub is an attractive point to foreign investors. A large middle class and a compulsory medical savings scheme that accounts for two thirds of all private medical spending have also attracted the interest of foreign providers.

Additionally, the Singaporean government has taken several steps to establish the country as Southeast Asia's epicenter for healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals research and development, while at the same time leveraging the country's strategic location and connectivity within Southeast Asia.
