The ACM International Conference on Principles and Practice of Programming In Java (PPPJ 2008) aims at drawing together researchers, teachers, practitioners, and programmers who study or work with the Java language, in order to discuss the principles and practice of its use in a friendly and fertile academic environment.

PPPJ 2008 is organized by the Departement of Ingegneria dell'Informazione (Computer Science and Engineering). The PPPJ 2008 conference will be held at the Faculty of Engineering ( University of Modena and Reggio Emilia). PPPJ 2008 is organized in co-operation with the SIGAPP and SIGPLAN special interest groups of ACM. The authors of the best papers at PPPJ 2008 will be invited to publish in Elsevier's Science of Computer Programming.
