Balance-of-Plant (BOP) heat exchangers perform vital functions in terms of safety, license renewal, and maintenance of plant capacity factors. Periodic nondestructive examination (NDE) is an essential part of BOP heat exchanger condition assessment. Such assessment is important for maintaining reliable operation of BOP heat exchanger components and minimizing capacity losses due to fouling and tube leaks. EPRI is actively participating in the condition assessment and evaluation of heat exchangers and in the application of various NDE techniques to maintain tube integrity and extend the life of BOP heat exchanger components.

The 10th EPRI Balance-of-Plant Heat Exchanger NDE Symposium offers an opportunity for information exchange relating to inspection, maintenance, and repair of heat exchanger components. The symposium agenda will combine technology transfer sessions with a vendor exposition. Information on the latest state-of-the-art testing techniques, equipment, and services will be available for utilities seeking one-on-one discussion with equipment vendors and service organizations. Twenty-six of these vendors and organizations participated in our last symposium.
