Session: Technology Roadmaps: Where should we look for a compass?
Description
The only safe maxim in that there is no absolute Right Decision when it comes to technology. So when faced with a multitude of paths and conflicting advice, how do you decide on a sound technology course for your organization?
Some of the most important conversations at conferences happen in the hallways, when an animated disussion breaks out between a practtioner and a consultant, and perhaps a vendor who has overheard the conversation and joined in to offer yet another perspective. What happens is a frank, balanced discussion that results in the big aha. We wanted to bring those discussions into the conference for the benefit of all delegates, and to help decide which afternoon workshop to attend.

Technology Roadmap Lost the Way
I found this session of limited value though a few good points were raised. Panel members were in agreement that a company needs to know where it wants to go first. They also agreed that a roadmap cannot be cast in stone and must be revisited regularly. Unfortunately I didn't come away with any clear ideas on where to look for a compass. |
