A whole new way to think about requirements gathering
A review of the session "Rapid Ramp-up: Rapid and Early Discovery of Potential Change Management Issues in CM Projects (W)"
This session was very insightful. Emma and Rahel outlined a process for understanding business requirements through "story telling". Based on an established methodology, the process uncovers issues that the normal requirements process would miss. The examples Emma and Rahel gave were great and the speakers were very enthusasitic about their subject. The only things that may have improved the session were to provide a bit of a better intro up front, and perhaps incorporate story telling into the presntation itself to further demonstrate how people learn best through stories. Enjoyed it! |

When everything comes together ... magic!
A review of the session "Web Site Optimization - Integrating Web Content Management, Email Marketing, and Analytics (W)"
Marketers have struggled to maximize lead generation from their company's (or client's) websites - Krista explained very well how aligning the steps, creating specific landing pages, and following through with targeted information can increase - and pre-qualify - leads coming through the website. Very informative, and the suite of tools that hotbanana (www.hotbanana.com) offers help make the process as simple and reliable as possible. Good, solid presentation. |

A smooth presentation about bumpy rides!
A review of the session "Things That Go Bump in Your Content Management Project (R)"
Based in part on her survey results, and coupled with her vast experience in these matters, Rita confidently - and competently - outlined the 8 critical success factors of a CM project. True to the saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" she subsequently reviewed each "bump" and suggested both a way to prevent the bump, and ideas on how to cure the bump, if prevention was not an option. As a tool to get sponsor support for preventions and/or cures, she introduced a simple, but very effective assessment tool, to gauge how bumpy the ride is: a wheel with eight spokes, with the outer rim constituting 100% fulfilment of the success factor, and the center of the wheel indicating 0%. As a way to quickly visualize the status of a project, and to identify the areas that need work, I took away a valuable aid for my discussions with the C-level sponsor of my next project. Well done! |

Interesting, Informative, and Hysterical
A review of the session "Keynote: The Intangibles of Tangible Successes"
Ben Martin had the audience from the moment he took the stage. An excellent presenter with a great style of delivery, Martin had attendees laughing at loud at times, while still managing to provide information of value. Highly recommended. |
